Position Purpose:

Supervises the day-to-day operations of the water treatment plant.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

• The Superintendent reports to the General Manager as do the Foreman, Billing Clerk and Administrative Assistant. Reporting to this position are the Head Operator and Operator.

• To perform effectively in this position, an individual must be licensed by the state of New Jersey with Operator T-4, W-4 and N-1.

• The Superintendent supervises the daily activities of the Head Operator and the Operator at the water treatment plant site, ensuring that preventative maintenance on equipment is done properly and in a timely manner.

• The incumbent ensures an adequate supply of chemicals and parts for the treatment plant, ordering supplies as necessary.

• The Superintendent handles customer complaints and distribution inquiries.

• The Superintendent completes the state required reports including T-Reports, NJPDES, Diversion and TCPA reports.

• The incumbent ensures that both chemical and bacteriological sampling is completed as required by state and federal governments.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

• High School Diploma/GED is required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of wastewater treatment and day-to-day operations.

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

• NC WW 2 is required.

• NC WW 3 is preferred.

• Driver's license is required.
