Bluehawk LLC System Administrator - Mid in Elkridge, Maryland

Bluehawk, LLC is seeking a Systems Administrator responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers. This role involves monitoring and managing system resources, performing security administration, and supporting system performance and efficiency. The Systems Administrator also interacts with users, evaluates vendor products, and makes recommendations for hardware and software purchases.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems.

  • Monitor and manage system resources such as CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operational efficiency.

  • Perform system security administration tasks, including creating and managing user profiles and accounts.

  • Set up and maintain administrator accounts and system documentation.

  • Tune system performance and install system-wide software.

  • Allocate mass storage space as needed to support system operations.

  • Interact with users to address and resolve system issues.

  • Evaluate vendor products and make recommendations for hardware and software purchases.

  • Coordinate installation of new hardware and software and provide backup recovery.

  • Develop and monitor policies and standards related to the allocation and use of computing resources.

  • Ensure compliance with established technical standards, principles, and theories.

  • Provide solutions to technical problems of moderate scope and complexity under general supervision

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a CI polygraph.

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with 2-4 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 0-2 years of experience.

  • Experience with technical standards, principles, and theories.

  • Strong skills in system administration, performance tuning, and security management.

  • Ability to interact effectively with users and vendors.

  • Familiarity with system documentation and backup recovery procedures.
