Actalent Sustaining Engineer in Elkton, Maryland

Job Title: Sustaining EngineerJob Description

Maintain and follow TMC Quality System requirements; including but not limited to understanding of change control, validation, documentation practices, and design control requirements. Collaborate, maintain cross-functional partnerships and coordinate activities as necessary with groups that include but are not limited to supplier quality, purchasing, manufacturing engineering, quality compliance, regulatory, and system engineering. Manage and lead multiple projects simultaneously. Evaluate and communicate business (timing, cost) impact of design changes. Lead and execute product design change projects from evaluation through validation. Develop project schedules, attend meetings, coordinate resources and prepare reports as required, ensuring effective communication of ideas, information, and issues to appropriate stakeholders. Provide technical assistance and leadership in the planning and implementation of complex design change projects to develop and qualify new materials, molds, etc. Assist in the completion of engineering tasks or projects led by more experienced engineers. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Hard Skills

  • Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree

  • 3+ years experience in medical device or regulated industry

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment for designing, assembling, and validating raw material and finished product

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Elkton, Maryland and some days remote.

Work Environment

New product development in a facility spanning 000 square feet. The environment includes 10 products with different SKUs and sizes, all related to vascular access, closure, catheters, embolics, etc. It is a high-volume manufacturing environment with examples such as a vascular closure device.
