Job Summary Central Washington University is recruiting an Assistant Professor of Aviation to join our Aviation team in Ellensburg, Washington. The Role: Central Washington University (CWU), located in Ellensburg, WA, seeks a nine-month, full time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor to teach in the Professional Pilot program. CWU offers a Professional Pilot Bachelor's degree. The goal of the program is to prepare students for careers as professional pilots in private industry and governmental agencies. The Department of Aviation faculty teach courses related to their area of expertise using a variety of modalities. In addition, faculty members are expected to create a campus environment that is welcoming, inclusive, and increasingly diverse; advise students; contribute to the advancement of the department/program; engage in scholarship appropriate to their field/expertise; and provide service to the University, the community and their profession. Minimum Qualifications Please address in your cover letter: Earned Masters degree, preferably in Aviation, Business, Education, Management, or Safety (with advanced flight ratings and five years aviation industry experience) Logged flight hours equivalent to an FAA Part 141 Assistant Chief Instructor Demonstrated success in teaching at the college or university level Willingness to teach a wide range of courses at all levels and through various modalities (e.g. in-person, online, or hybrid) Research, teaching, service or other experience that has prepared the candidate to contribute to CWU's commitment to the engagement and inclusion of culturally diverse students.
