This BI Analyst (SQL / Power BI) role within GEO-IS Solutions department working with a team of developers and analysts who support our customers and district operations. Our department supports freight operations for a variety of products and services that include the following:
Freight
Customs
Customer Analytics
Compliance and other services
Successful candidates must understand or be able to translate complex business requirements into scalable and trusted solutions, including queries, automations, reports, and dashboards. At the core, a successful Solutions Developer will excel at the following:
Design, develop and maintain solutions
Fulfill business needs through crafting and presenting data
Presents information through easy-to-interpret reports, visualization, and dashboards
Drives efficiency in operations through task automation
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Translate business needs into technical specifications to build solutions
Design, build, and deploy solutions supporting reporting and automation supporting district operational teams (i.e., reports, dashboards, automating tasks/activities)
Provides production support for existing solutions
Conduct testing and troubleshooting with end users
Conduct code reviews and ensure solutions are put through end-to-end testing
Maintain proper version control and solution backup
Develop and update technical documentation
Create, collaborate and promote industry best practices within the team and department
Train end-users and stakeholders to effectively utilize solutions
Support agile work processes and keep work management systems current (i.e. Azure DevOps)
Completes development within service level agreements and cycle time expectations as defined by team
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or three years of related professional experience
2+ Years of professional development experience
Work effectively with a cross-functional development team
Self-assigns work as necessary to meet the team's commitments
Design creative, thoughtful, and professional-looking reports, and dashboards
Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL or Python
Proficient with BI and reporting platforms (i.e., Inetsoft, Power BI)
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., VBA, Excel)
Desired Qualifications
Microsoft PL-300 Certification
Proficient in Python (i.e., pandas, numpy) and JavaScript
Proficient in Microsoft DAX or M
Experience with MS Fabric, Databricks or Azure Synapse
Experience in task automation (i.e., Power Platform, etc.)
Experience with code versioning using GitLab
This position must be based out of one of our offices located in Atlanta - GA, Detroit - MI, Edison - NJ, or Dallas - TX.
- Position is full time (40 hours per week) Monday through Friday (in office). We are an office business attire company.
