PRODUCTION PLANNING MANAGER

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enhance scheduling tool to best optimize labor to maximize revenue and profitability

  • Requires an advanced understanding of industrial engineering to best allocate labor daily in the facility

  • Create and approve schedule, daily by shift accounting for variables including but not limited to feature activity, bird size, market dynamics and absenteeism

  • Review line/plant performance in weekly and monthly buckets and adjust rates, labor allocation accordingly

  • Partner with plant operations to identify and close gaps associated with product mix and labor efficiency

  • Including building reports and coaching shift managers and supervisors

  • Aid in ROI analysis for automation in facility

  • Track and execute on actual sales to budget for the year

  • Leverage advanced engineering skillset to optimize production goals

  • Own order fulfillment and line efficiency for a poultry production plant

  • Create production schedule for poultry production plant twice daily ensuring customer needs are met, relative to operational capabilities in line with engineering capabilities

  • Conduct daily meeting with sales and operations to review the schedule and inventory to ensure plant efficiently estimates production sales forecast accurately according to engineering capabilities, accurate estimations for bird weight and head kill

  • Work closely with operations during the day to ensure schedule adherence and order fulfillment is in line with production capabilities

  • Reconcile Inventory on a daily basis to ensure no waste or spoilage to ensure no shortages or bottlenecks in process

  • Spend time on the operational floor and understand the process flow of the plant and engineering capabilities

  • Ensure work space is properly maintained for optimal performance

  • Participate in design and layout aspects of special projects to achieve optimal efficiency

  • Frequent communication with maintenance, purchasing, production, and other departments involved with any aspect of production efficiency and optimal production levels

  • Perform various other duties as needed or assigned

  • Lead the efforts to complete Production Planning

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully, both written and verbally

  • Ability to organize and coordinate projects

  • Bilingual skills helpful

  • Capable of independent decision making

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Excellent conflict resolution skills

  • Demonstrates integrity and fairness

  • Able to quickly and effectively adapt to new and changing situations

  • Desire for continuous improvement

  • Statistical Skills (Basic Level)

  • Thorough understanding of poultry industry and bird cutouts

  • Intermediate skills required for Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

  • Advanced Excel skills preferred

  • Problem solve/root cause analysis

  • Knowledge of SAP a plus

  • Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred.
