We are currently looking for a Dietary Coordinator that can work out of Ellsworth, Jonesport, or Belfast.The Dietary Coordinator will provide oversight to the nutritional needs of the residents and the food service program, ensuring balanced healthy menus\ for older adults while ensuring safe dietary practices.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Plan weekly menus on a monthly basis. Menus should include a variety of foods and alternatives that support individual dietary needs and restrictions. Provide menus and alternatives to each community.
  • Prepare each kitchen for state reviews and review most recent plans of correction to ensure all items have been completed.
  • Approve any additions of main entre to the menu program.
  • Support and educate kitchen staff in adjusting/substituting menus to utilize foods in the refrigerator and freezer to prevent waste and spoilage.
  • Carry out policies and procedures in the food service program ensuring compliance with food service regulations. Support and educate kitchen staff on maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe kitchen environment.
  • Ensure proper practices of storage of food for infection control and prevention.
  • Responsible for ensuring food ordering is completed at all locations according to inventory, and falls in compliance of budgets, dietary guidelines, requirements, and facility menus.
  • Be familiar with approved for use vendors, pricing, ordering practices and abilities.
  • Work with other facility managers to provide support for their kitchens with state regulation and compliance.
  • Follow all injury report processes as advised by policy and procedures.
  • Coordinate and assign work to dietary staff as needed for assigned commercial kitchen locations, subject to change dependent on facility size and potential company growth.
  • Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with coworkers, residents, families, and visitors.
  • Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, facility operation and personnel.
  • Promote teamwork in providing services to the residents.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
