Superior Ambulance Service Facilities Technician in Elmhurst, Illinois
Overview
Under the general supervision of the Director of Logistics and External Relations, the Facility Manager performs a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds of various facilities.
One primary goals of Superior Air-Ground Ambulance to provide high quality support to the employees it serves. Such a level of quality depends ultimately on the staff's desire and ability to work together, individually, and as a team. The employee is expected to be professional, punctual, maintain regular attendance, cooperative, organized, and enthusiastic at all times.
Responsibilities
This position requires an assortment of basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general handyman skills.
This position services several locations in Illinois and travel is required. Company vehicle and tools will be provided.
Regular building repairs and maintenance including but not limited to:
Fixing/Installing light fixtures, replacing bulbs
Laying flooring
Building/fixing furniture, installing blinds
Fixing/installing bathroom & kitchen fixtures
Fixing/installing water heaters
Fixing/installing power reels
Adding/moving power outlets
Mounting TVs
General labor including but not limited to:
Removing detritus
Moving/setting up furniture for new stations
Moving/arranging items for storage
Occasional use of a moving truck may be required
Qualifications
· Knowledge of basic carpentry, electric, plumbing, and general maintenance skills
· Ability to communicate clearly with customers regarding timelines and needs
· Creative problem solving is a plus!
Physical Requirements:
· Frequent: kneeling, stooping, stretching, bending, leaning; must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
· Frequent: hearing/listening, clear speech, reaching, touching, typing
· Prompt and regular attendance at work.
· Ability to perform visual inspections.
· Must have a valid driver’s license.
Working Environment:
Works outdoors and indoors with occasional exposure to hazardous conditions and to blood/body fluids, fumes/odors, extended day, and temperature changes. Frequently works with others, face-to-face contact with others with exposure to noise, mechanical equipment, and electrical equipment.
