The New York Islanders Hockey Club is one of the most iconic franchises in professional sports, with a deeply passionate and loyal fan base that is second to none. Built on a Dynasty in the 1980s with four straight Stanley Cup Championships, our history is what will propel us into the future, confidently assuming a position of strength in the sports, entertainment, and cultural landscape.

Our home at UBS Arena at Belmont Park, which was built for hockey and made for music, cements our brand into the very foundation of New York. We have always carved our own path, and to our fans the Islanders are a way for people to be a part of something greater than themselves. To be a part of living history, with the glory of the past fueling the drive for our fifth Stanley Cup.

How to Make the Team

We are hiring Hockey/Skating Instructors at The Park at UBS Arena, a 155,800 square foot season-long, outdoor experience that will introduce the first two public pond hockey rinks to the community. With UBS Arena located within the heart of historic Belmont Park, The Park aims to take advantage of this unique setting and create something special for hockey fans of all ages. If you are experienced as a hockey or skate instructor, then we want to get to know you. The Hockey/Skating Instructors will engage participants and ensure they have a memorable experience at The Park.

Show Us You Can

Develop and implement lesson plans for hockey and/or skate programs. Create engaging and skill-appropriate drills to enhance participants' abilities Instruct individuals or groups in the fundamentals of hockey or skating techniques Demonstrate proper techniques and provide hands-on guidance to participants Focus on skill development, including skating, stickhandling, passing, and shooting Provide constructive feedback and tailored coaching to enhance performance

Your Training & Talent

Previous experience as a hockey or skate instructor Knowledge of teaching techniques and skill progressions Certification in coaching, teaching, or relevant field (e.g., USA Hockey Coaching Certification) Excellent knowledge of hockey or skating fundamentals Strong communication and interpersonal skills
