POSITION SUMMARY Individual contributor role that works closely with suppliers to develop their capability to produce Parker products with repeatable and sustainable processes to ensure zero defects and on time delivery to need dates. Utilizes PMP, Six-Sigma, APQP and PPAP methods in everyday activities. Plans, schedules, and coordinates efforts of the supplier development engineering staff or acts as an individual researcher or functional expert on projects with significant customers/suppliers and business impact. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS May participate in supplier site audits and/or coordinate supplier audits with a cross functional team to determine appropriateness and quality of supplier's product. Will initiate vendor quality management, improvements including evaluating process capability, tracking delivery, output, and reporting of supplier performance. Develops, grows, and communicates a functional understanding of Parker products and processes with our suppliers. Works closely with suppliers to develop their capability to produce Parker products with repeatable and sustainable processes to ensure zero defects and on time delivery to need dates. Plans, schedules, and coordinates efforts of the supplier development engineering staff or acts as an individual researcher or functional expert on projects with significant customers/suppliers and business impact. Domestic and international travel may be required, 15% of time. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of 3 to 5 years supplier development experience. Bachelors Degree (BA) in Business Administration, or related field AND experience which has provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through six or more years of increasingly responsible related experience. Certificate in Purchasing Management (CPM) or APICS desired. Thorough knowledge of purchasing and negotiating methods, principles, and concepts. Knowledge of industry practices, general business operations, and policies. Ability to effectively assess and implement continuous improvement principles and techniques. Proficient with standard business application software and specialized purchasing and/or materials systems (e.g., electronic data interface (EDI) or manufacturing resource planning (MRP) systems). Ability to work on a variety of problems of diverse scope and complexity where analysis and evaluation of various outcomes require tradeoffs. Ability to solve a wide range of difficult problems in imaginative and practical ways and evaluate alternative solutions that may require coordination across multiple teams. Ability to establish goals and objectives to complete projects. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies and recommend changes to procedures.
