NBC Universal Project Specialist, Distribution Operations in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey

NBCUniversal is seeking a Distribution Operations Project Specialist individual to join a driven and highly-motivated team located in Centennial, Colorado and Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey within NBCUniversal’s Technical Operations.

The Distribution Operations Implementation representative will be responsible for overseeing and driving multiple internal projects across the Distribution Operation portfolio to streamline in-market workflows.  This position will work with subject matter experts to define, scope, prioritize and manage critical business projects.  In addition, this role is responsible for reporting, operationalization, and data analysis.

  • Increase resiliency and support by maintaining overarching documentation

  • Enhance communication and alignment across teams and locations

  • Streamline monitoring & control across Distribution, Product, and Engineering

Responsibilities:

  • Project management: collaborate with subject matter experts to define and execute critical business projects. Gain alignment on project scope, assign responsible parties, set milestones and deadlines, and drive projects to completion. Identify and communicate project hurdles and escalate as needed. Provide project updates to stakeholders (internally and externally) per requirement and demand. Create and maintain detailed project documentation for tracking, report outs, and operational handoff. Major projects include but are not limited to cloud playout transition and distribution model changes (satellite vs. terrestrial).

  • Data analytics: design and build meaningful reports to aid in the management of the distribution operations teams. Interpret and present data. Identify patterns and collaborate with management to help with data driven decision making and future project road mapping. Ad hoc reporting as requested.

  • Operationalization (training and onboarding): complete training and onboarding with distribution teams to ensure projects and new work can be supported permanently. Build an initial training session(s) and establish procedures to be incorporated in the larger training matrix. Assist with reliability management as new work is folded into the operations teams.

  • Training program management: build and maintain department training program. Collaborate with subject matter experts to design, develop, and update training curriculum. Coordinate with Engineering team to design training pod. Maintain and present training matrix. Explore solutions to streamline supplemental training scenarios and documentation creation.

  • 3+ years of project management and data analysis responsibilities

  • 1+ years of relevant industry experience (technology / entertainment)

  • 1+ year of demonstrated leadership experience in a fast-paced environment requiring trouble shooting, problem solving and exhibiting an ability to effectively lead, prioritize and adapt to changing scenarios 

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

  • Must be willing to commute into Englewood Cliffs, NJ

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to collaborate with a variety of people across multiple position levels and departments

  • Proven ability to successfully manage significant projects and document procedures

  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data

  • Ability to influence others

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
