Amentum Civil Engineer 4 in Englewood, Colorado

Amentum is seeking a Civil Engineer 4 to be based in Englewood, CO. To perform as a lead on more complex engineering assignments. Perform a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, development, design, manufacture, test, installation, operation, and maintenance of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems and generally as a lead of a design, analysis or review team on more complex engineering assignments.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Perform a range of design development, analysis or review tasks independently.

  2. Responsible for complete designs, analyses, or design reviews.

  3. Generate complete design specifications for more complex projects.

  4. May provide training to less experienced engineers.

  5. Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements.

  6. Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status.

  7. Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.

  8. Direct interface and liaison with customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.

  9. Conduct site visits, experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.

  10. Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.

  11. Prepare, deliver and submit technical papers and perform engineering studies.

  12. Support development of technical proposal and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.

Minimum Requirements:

  • US Citizen

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent education.

  • 7+ years plus of professional experience required.

  • Professional Engineering License required.

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills

  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory codes and standards

  • In-depth knowledge and expertise in civil engineering software and integrated application software including Civil 3D.

  • The position may require the ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software.

  • Position may require travel.

  • Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science degree in structural engineering

  • Government or nuclear experience, i.e., DOD, DOE, NR

  • Fully understands the process of preparing and checking calculations, as well as, approval, revision, retention, and storage of project calculations

  • Fully understands drawing production and checking, as well as, approval, revision, retention, and storage of engineering drawings

Compensation & Benefits

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $93K - $144K annually (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
