Kelly Services Mineralogy Technician II in Englewood, Colorado

Mineralogy Technician II – Englewood, CO

Type: Contract to Hire

Shift: M-F 1 st Shift, 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off)

Pay Rate : $23-$25/hr

Essential Duties

  • Conduct sample inventory, organization, cataloging, and re-packaging

  • Submit projects with samples in LIMS, indicating test work required

  • Operate equipment like riffle/rotary splitters, bowl pulverizers, and ensure quality control

  • Perform wet- and dry-screening and maintain sieve cleanliness

  • Prevent sample cross-contamination and prepare samples for analysis (e.g., XRD, SEM)

  • Maintain detailed records in lab notebooks and storage systems

  • Assist other departments with sample preparation and weighing when needed

  • Order lab consumables and report equipment maintenance

  • Follow safety, environmental, and social responsibility protocols

Experience

  • High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's in a science-related field preferred

  • Basic computer skills (Excel, MS Word)

  • 0-2 years of experience in a relevant field preferred

  • Basic math and chemistry understanding

  • Proficiency in Word Processing and Excel

  • Ability to work with diverse teams

  • Reading and interpreting documents (e.g., Safety Data Sheets, warning signs, manuals)

  • Initiative, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn

  • Familiarity with OSHA and MSHA regulations a plus
