Hiring Range: $22.03/hr - $25.45/hr Full Range: $22.03/hr - $28.86/hr

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Inspects, maintains, services and repairs a variety of equipment, such as pumps, motors, drives, electrical supplies, meters associated with water treatment, water supply and water storage facilities. -Operates hand and power shop tools to perform repairs. -Maintains all hand and power tools in safe and efficient operating condition.

-Performs a variety of related duties as required such as grounds maintenance, building maintenance, snow removal, equipment maintenance and repair. -Operates a variety of equipment including light vehicles, snow removal equipment, lawn mowers, etc. -Provides general guidance to temporary or seasonal laborers, as assigned. -Responsible for shop area maintenance, safety and cleanliness. -Performs custodial and grounds maintenance duties as sweeping, mopping, painting, carpentry, plumbing, minor electrical. -Learns the maintenance and monitoring of a water/wastewater system. -Performs a variety of duties that requires considerable knowledge of the use and wear of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). -Performs routine safety checks of equipment and minor maintenance activities on vehicles and equipment and maintains records of activities. -Performs data entry of information, maintenance logs and other data in spreadsheets and related software. -Prepares necessary records and reports. -Performs related work as required and assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent (GED). An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Must have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Knowledge of: general maintenance of equipment, pumps, valves, motors and other water/wastewater equipment. Knowledge of the overall maintenance of a water/wastewater system. Knowledge of the safety precautions relating to work around machinery and laboratory chemicals

Skills in: operating equipment necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. Has the ability to properly operate or use equipment as necessary. Use of hand tools may include but is not limited to saws, hammers and drills. Skilled in the use of power equipment. May operate various outside light maintenance equipment using mowers, trimmers and chain saws.
