Position Description:  Training Specialist

 

Reporting to the Training Manager, the Training Specialist will assist with development of training programs and materials, deliver programs when appropriate to analyze, improve and manage performance.  The Training Specialist will complete a train-the-trainer program and then design and lead instructor-led classes.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Understand and represent PRITM 's mission, vision, and values to all internal and external customers
  • Engage clients in appropriate communication that manages client expectations and builds a collaborative relationship with the client
  • Interact with government and private sector clients, partners, and PRITM staff in a professional and accountable manner, and as a representative of PRI management
  • Interact with project team members in order to successfully fulfill contract obligations with the highest quality and in a timely manner meeting PRITM 's ISO requirements
  • Instills integrity throughout the organization via active participation in ISO requirements including but not limited to timely submission of Corrective Action Plans for all matters in which either PRITM standards and/or corporate contract standards have not been met. Communicating outcomes to team members to ensure a positive, open, environment which mitigates risk and achieves a culture of Continuous Quality Improvement
  • Develop and revise training courses.  Delivers training material to staff members, administering course exams, and material review for new hire, ongoing and remedial training
  • Design and lead instructor-led classes
  • Assess, design, and conceptualize training scenarios
  • Identify the best approach to training requirements including hardware, software, simulations, course assessment and refreshment, assessment centers, oral examinations, interviews, computer assisted an adaptive testing, behavior-based assessment and performance, and team and unit assessment and measurement
  • Prepare training catalogs and course materials
  • Train personnel by conducting formal classroom courses, workshops, and seminars
  • Assists in the development, writes, and coordinates development of training manuals in conjunction with the QA/Training Manager and QA Specialists.  The training manuals should include course content, visual charts, videotapes, slides and may include other visuals to impact learning retention
  • Writes material for new training programs; reviews, evaluates, and modifies existing and proposed programs
  • Prepares training videotapes and/or films; maintains library of video and film training aids
  • Schedules training sessions within individual training programs ensuring facility setup, audiovisual setup, and employee notification
  • Maintains detailed records for staff training, attendance, exam scores, etc
  • Assess the effectiveness of programs developed and/or administered
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or two plus years of experience in one or more of the following: Human Resources Development, Communications, Personnel Relations, Business Administration, Education or Training
  • Good public speaker and at ease moderating large groups
  • Ability to understand and apply principles of adult learning to training development and delivery
  • Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills
  • Knowledge and work experience with State and Federal programs (i.e. CHIP, TANF, Food Stamps, Medicaid or LTC) is preferred
  • Ability to lead Training classes for up to eight hours per day
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Required proficient PowerPoint  skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstration of adherence to deadlines
  • Flexibility to changing requirements and contingencies
  • Ability to be discr te and maintain high levels of confidentialityAbility to interface with all levels of management and staff personnel
  • Must have no conflict of interest (COI) as defined in 1154(b)(1) of the Social Security Act (SSA)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Security Clearance
