Internship Program Overview:

Our Interns & Co-ops are our entry-level talent pipeline for GF across the globe. Our goal is to provide students with a meaningful work experience that will equip them with the skills to embark on a career in the fast-paced and growing semiconductor industry after graduation. As an intern at GF, you\'ll experience one-on-one mentorship, work assignments that prioritize your growth and potential, professional development opportunities, and the chance to network with executives.

Summary of Role:

As an Industrial Engineering intern, you work closely with our engineering team on projects that drive standardization and efficiency across multiple GF factories. Work includes data analysis and problem solving to find opportunities that improved capacity modeling, reduce operating costs, improve cycle time or identify efficient factory space utilization. This position requires an individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. This position will be located at GLOBALFOUNDRIES in Essex Junction, Vermont.

Essential Responsibilities include:

  • Projects may include analyzing the performance of the factory (such as OEE, throughput and cycle time); simplify Industrial Engineering Capacity Processes; identify and support cost savings opportunities; documentation of improved processes; building dashboards of key data, or providing code to manage sets of data.

{=html} <!-- --> - Work directly with the existing skilled Industrial Engineering team and stakeholders on other factory teams.

{=html} <!-- --> - Communicate effectively across teams in Manufacturing operations, Industrial Engineering, Finance, Quality, engineering and Maintenance. Participate in problem solving sessions, including lean methodologies and value stream mapping.

{=html} <!-- --> - Learn about a leading-edge semiconductor wafer manufacturing facility and factory physics

{=html} <!-- --> - Apply their Industrial Engineering and programming skills to real work manufacturing data systems

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, and programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education - At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Industrial Engineering, or related field, through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.

{=html} <!-- --> - Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)

{=html} <!-- --> - Travel as needed - Up to 10%

{=html} <!-- --> - Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior internship or co-op experience in Industrial Engineering or related Manufacturing operations
