Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries is seeking a highly motivated Tapeout Engineer with coding and automation experience to become part of the Global Tapeout and Mask Operations organization. This technical individual contributor will be responsible for developing new methodologies and automation to support current and future-state t apeout process flows , targeting best-in-class cycle time , quality, and value for our customers . This position requires an individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and will be located in Essex Junction, Vermont.

Essential Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop methodologies and systems supporting next-generation Mask Data Prep operations.   Project scope includes proposed solutions, analysis of business cases, and presenting results.

  • Develop scripts and automated tools to improve the quality and cycle-time of t apeouts . 

  • Manage tapeout projects from pre-tape-in, to r elease, to mask write.

  • Collaborate with tapeout stakeholders to define:  

  • Design services and data preparation flows.

  • Long-term scalable strategies for each element/operation in the flow.

  • Schedule management, schedule analysis, risk assessment/mitigation.

    Other Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively across teams in operations, engineering, and quality.  Participate in problem solving sessions, including lean methodologies .

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, and programs.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Electrical Engineering, or related field from an accredited degree program .

  • Experience in Linux working environment including working knowledge of scripting (Python, Perl, etc.).

  • Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal).

  • Travel as needed - Up to 10%.

  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week .

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior internship or co-op experience in Tapeout Engineering or related Semiconductor m anufacturing operations.

  • Project management skills - the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong planning & organizational skills.

  • EDA experience in Siemens, Cadence, Synops y s or BRION tools.

  • Experience in DRC, OPC, or Mask Technology.

Expected Salary Range

$52,500.00 - $107,000.00
