This job order is being placed in connection with a future application for H-2B workers.
Job Duties:
3 temporary/fulltime positions from 04/01/2025 -- 11/30/2025. Workers will assist with installation of various nursery plants at job site to include trees, shrubs, seasonal color, and perennials. To begin, workers must safely load and unload work vehicles with plants and tools from the nursery that are needed for the landscape installation jobs such as shovels, blowers, rakes, brooms, hand clippers, hand pruner, and other hand operated small tools such as listed. Clean up debris and materials from the trucks at the end of the day. Prepare, plant, prune, fertilize, water, mulch landscape plantings on job site. Landscape bed and lawn preparation to include weeding, edging, mulching, raking, digging, tilling, and cleaning up debris and material at the job site. Assist in installing mortarless segmental project materials such as brick, flagstone, wood, timbers, soil, low-voltage lighting, edging, and lawns. All tasks to be performed as instructed by supervisor. Safely operate hand and power tools (leaf blowers) on the job and return them to proper storage place. Report any defective or broken tools or equipment to the foreman. Adhere to safety standards for self and work crew. Adhere to company dress and uniform standards. Work in outdoor temps from below 30 to excess of 100degrees. must be able to lift 50lbs, kneel, walk, bend, & stoop repetitively for prolonged periods of time throughout the entire workday. Work is performed in all types of weather. Related to the statement of "assist in installing mortarless segmental project materials such as brick, flagstone, wood, timbers, soil" that means the workers will simply hand load & unload these materials for transport to the project site and then will hand these same materials to more skilled workers actually utilizing the materials to create the MORTARLESS project of the planting bed, walkway, wall. Workers in this job description are not the highly skilled position. They are simply handing materials PLUS the tools they will use as these projects are worked will be the rakes, shovels for smoothing soil, brooms, & blowers. This specific tasks involved in cleaning debris & materials from the trucks at the end of the day include unloading materials such plants, edging, mulch, top soil, or stone not used or installed on the job site that day. The specific tools involved in this end of the day task are all manually operated tools to include shovels, brooms, wheelbarrows, rakes, or other non-motorized tools and returning them to the proper storage area. Using these same tools (such as the broom, rake, wheelbarrow, etc) the trucks are also cleared of debris such as brush, plant material, or waste soils cleared from the job site and placing them in the composting area.
Job Requirements: 3 months positive verifiable experience required in job offered. Worker may be required to take a random drug test, post-hire, at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination of employment. Must be physically able to perform job. Must be available for the entire season, able, willing, and qualified to perform the work. Attention to detail.
