Electrical Engineering Intern - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Euclid, OH

BWXT currently has an opening in Euclid, OH for an intern in the Assembly & Test Engineering Group. The position will allow for both hands-on learning and exposure to a professional work environment in the field of electromechanics. The position is full-time. Candidates should be students who are pursuing a Bachelor's degree, preferably in their sophomore or junior year of studies in Electrical Engineering, who also have an interest in mechanical systems. Experience with electrical schematic software and labVIEW programming is desirable. Candidates should be approachable and motivated and should have good listening, writing, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and modification of electrical control panel drawings using OrCAD Capture.

  • New control panel design and construction.

  • Process improvement projects, including updating work procedures and implementing new tooling and equipment.

  • Investigation and resolution of issues in the plant, including part rework operations.

  • Other engineering tasks and responsibilities as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program in Electrical Engineering.

  • Basic familiarity with engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing.

  • Strong verbal and technical writing skills.

  • Experience with electrical schematic software and labVIEW programming is desirable.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.

    The base salary range for this position in Ohio at the start of employment is expected to be between $21.50/hour and $29.50/hour per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
