Jennie Joiner with Robert Half is on the hunt for a Controller to join our client in the public sector within the vibrant city of Eugene, Oregon. As a Controller, you will report to the VP of Finance and Operations and play a critical role in the finance office, focusing on accounting, tax compliance, accounts receivable and payable, grant accounting, and internal/external financial reporting. Our client is seeking someone who is collaborative, has a team approach to work and has DEI work values. Responsibilities:

• Oversee the processing of financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner.

• Develop and maintain sound accounting policies and practices.

• Manage tax compliance, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.

• Oversee grant accounting and P-Card functions.

• Generate internal and external financial reports.

• Utilize accounting software systems to ensure efficient operations.

• Handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).

• Conduct auditing and budget processes.

• Prepare annual financial reports and conduct financial analysis.

• Perform financial audits and maintain financial control.

• Forecast financial trends.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for various financial operations.

• Prepare the annual budget and handle budgeting processes.

• Manage grant accounting processes.

Requirements • Proficiency in accounting software systems

• Knowledge of accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in auditing, budget processes, and annual financial reporting

• Ability to perform financial analysis and financial audits

• Experience in financial control and financial forecasting

• Knowledge of Banner and Microsoft Excel

• Experience in preparing annual budgets and budgeting

• Familiarity with grant accounting

• Ability to lead and coordinate with a team

• Excellent communication skills

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, or related field

• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred

• Strong analytical and decision-making skills

• Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
