Weyerhaeuser Process Control Engineer in Eugene, Oregon

As a Process Control Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in collaborating with various teams across our plant to enhance and maintain automation in our manufacturing processes. Serving as the site expert on automation platforms, you will contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations. Additionally, you will assist, consult, and occasionally lead site-specific projects, demonstrating a commitment to safety and clear communication throughout the organization.

Key Functions:

  • Lead and assist in the implementation of controls for both existing and new equipment installations.
  • Utilize data analytics to drive innovative and high-value solutions.
  • Collaborate with mill maintenance teams on control system hardware and software upgrades.
  • Provide support as needed for capital project planning and execution.
  • Lead or assist in the integration of new process technology platforms.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance automation across specific machine centers.
  • Routinely works with maintenance and operations personnel to identify & address needed improvements
  • Develops and defines advanced control system applications for various machinery and equipment using technologies or platforms including ladder logic programming for programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
  • Provide technical leadership for and/or mentor other process control engineers or electricians

  • Typically will have a BS Degree in Engineering or closely related technical discipline and 3-5 years of experience in PLC programming and Process Control OR Associate technical degree and 5-7 years OR no degree, and 10 years programming and process control experience.

  • Experience with automation platforms and their application in industrial settings.
  • Knowledge of process control technologies, PLC systems, and SCADA.
  • Knowledge of Rockwell Automation, Wonderware, and Siemens hardware & applications

Preferred:

  • Object-oriented programming, Visual Basic Skills, C , or any other program language skills

Compensation:This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range $79,300 to $142,500 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% to 10% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement:Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.

Paid Time Off or Vacation:We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours.
