Responsibilities

Responsible for monitoring the stages of closure production from raw materials to finished goods, ensuring the necessary forms, work instructions, procedures, and equipment are provided and/or are being used by Berry in order to be compliant to determined requirements. Quality Technician works with various functions: external raw material suppliers to resolve issues with product acceptance and to ensure customers receive the required quality documents/samples as required.

  • Monitor incoming raw materials.

  • Verify incoming certificates.

  • Test as required.

  • Maintain color master file, certificate log, and railcar resin board.

  • Process raw material non-conformance and communicate issues to suppliers.

  • Process internal non-conformances and communicate issues to manufacturing management.

  • Internal Auditing:

  • Warehouse

  • Product

  • Coordinate retention times and sending of records to outside storage.

  • Ensure quality documents/samples for outgoing product are acceptable.

  • Certificates of Analysis

  • Pre-Shipment Samples

  • Tailgate Samples

  • Follow applicable Food Safety and cGMP polices.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or GED is required; Associate’s degree in plastics, automation, or equivalent technical discipline preferred

  • 2-3 yrs experience in manufacturing/R&D/Quality Assurance

  • Working knowledge of Quality Assurance processes, ISO procedures, AIB requirements, GMP, statistical methods, control charts and SPC

  • Ability to read blueprint (AutoCad experience preferred)

  • Computer application skills (word processing, spreadsheets, databases}

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Self motivated with the ability to work independently
