About the Position

This individual will be responsible for managing design & test activities supporting the execution of Dual Mode Ramjet and scramjet testing. This individual will work on the team whose focus is bringing GE propulsion to the final frontier of flight – hypersonics. You will help revolutionize the future of air breathing high Mach propulsion. Your day-to-day will include working across the matrix to achieve desired results.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manages Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and program schedule.

  • Manages Interface Control Documents (ICD) and engineering definition between teams.

  • Connects internal Subject Matter Experts to inform product strategies.

  • Visit hardware suppliers and ensure project status and priority and communicate disruptions.

  • Establishes product requirements (internal and external), defines components and sub systems making up the overall architecture. Provides forward looking strategy for platforms and technology development/insertion to make product competitive. Defines and provides scope management.

  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.

  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance, leveraging prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems and may use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, aeronautical, mechanical, or electrical engineering from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical design, test and/or systems engineering.

  • Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this rolerequires the individual to obtain and maintain US GovernmentSecurity Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance isU.S. citizenship.

  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

Desired Characteristics

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design, test and/or systems engineering.

  • Has experience in

  • Developing and executing development component or engine tests.

  • High speed combustion system design and test.

  • Novel combustion design and development.

  • Advanced imaging and diagnostics for combustion systems.

  • Capable of working in highly matrixed organizations.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

  • Established project management skills.
