Utilize your detail-attentiveness in this Assistant Control position with a company Robert Half is collaborating with. The Assistant Controller will collaborate with the Controller to supervise the accounting staff. As the Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for identifying issues and delivering solutions. What you get to do every day

• Contribute to ensure a competent, trained staff through development, goal setting, and regular assessment

• Drive accountability and the meeting of deliverables

• Sort out and construct Ad Hoc financial reports

• Discern and establish process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency

• Provide regular account reconciliation to completion

• Prepare a variety of technical accounting analyses, policies, and procedures

• Advanced preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits

• Guide the accounting team during the closing process to arrange that deadlines are met

• Additional duties as assigned

• Come up with relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like key financial metrics, the monthly flash report, and actual spend against budgets/outlook

• Backfill for Controller where appropriate

• Assist with the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting

• Endorse implementation and confirm adherence to accounting policies and procedures

The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $120,000 + discretionary bonus.

Requirements

• Earlier work involving Process Improvement

• General familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Comprehension of auditing

• Experience with Internal Control

• Well-founded grasp of Federal Taxes

• Wide ranging experience with Job Cost

• Hands-on experience with contracts

• Journal entries experience

• Prepare Financial Reports experience preferred

• Deep understanding of account reconciliation

• Proven knowledge of Sales Tax

• Quality experience with payroll

• Good understanding of Leadership Skills

• Skills in Maintain Relationships

• Practical knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

• Previous experience working with Employee Training

• Month end closings experience

• Experience with Payroll Taxes

  • Progressive accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred

• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and IIA standards

• Ability to multitask and attention to detail are critical

• CPA an added bonus

• Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

• Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills

• 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
