The Boeing Company is looking for Mid-Level In-Service Maintenance Advisor (level 3) to join our Product Development team chartered to champion the research and development of new maintenance technologies associated with new products and airplane programs that enhance the competitive advantage for both the Boeing Company and our Customers in Everett, Washington .

Ideal candidates will have strong communication and critical thinking are essential skills to emphasize aircraft maintenance and reliability as key elements in the design and support of Boeing aircraft. In addition, they will have strong, practical, technical expertise and capability in aircraft design supportability, maintainability, production system optimization, test and airline maintenance, engineering, and logistics.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Advocates for customer operations/maintenance fields within the enterprise, develops technical performance standards and champions research and development of maintenance related technologies.

  • Advises on regulatory matters and researches emergent technical issues.

  • Acts as a key influencer for aircraft maintenance vision.

  • Resolves the impact to production system mechanics, aircraft maintenance/operations of systems design, tooling, facilities and supporting documents while acting as a liaison between the enterprise and customers on maintenance related issues and acting to improve customer processes.

  • Acts as the face of Boeing maintenance in sales/marketing efforts.

  • Primary back-up to the PD Chief Mechanic.

  • Supports future production system development.

  • Acts as the aircraft maintenance advocate responsible for ensuring a consistent approach to airplane build, test, maintenance, operational dispatch, reliability, durability, availability, lifecycle costs and impacts to our customers.

  • Provides design level guidance on human factors relating to aircraft maintenance and production tasks to minimize risk, optimize accessibility, and eliminate possible injury and human error.

  • Actively influences new airplane programs and aftermarket results to ensure efficient and practical alignment with the needs of our airline customers and regulatory agencies.

  • Applies and shares advanced troubleshooting techniques for production and aftermarket problem resolution.

  • Possess and demonstrates technical excellence and persuasive qualities to effectively influence diverse audiences.

  • Must be able to effectively partner with aircraft maintenance organizations, airlines, various internal organizations, regulators, supply base, and industry committees.

  • Communicates customer's in-service challenges to other Boeing organizations for practical understanding and design consideration.

  • Surveys and auditing customer technical operations while making recommendations to improve customer maintenance processes.

  • Represents Boeing during sales and marketing efforts to convey maintenance and operational features of the aircraft to facilitate the sale and promotion of Boeing products and services.

  • Works multi-functionally both with internal Boeing partners, including Senior and Program Leadership, Chief Engineers, Chief Pilots, and Design Engineers, and with external collaborators, including airline customers, regulators, and industry entities.

  • Provides guidance during requirements development and validation to ensure that our customers’ needs and regulatory requirements are met.

  • Interfaces directly with various Boeing technical organizations throughout an aircraft’s entire development life cycle up to an including Entry-Into-Service.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience in an aerospace industry with maintenance technology, systems, software, or structures (metallic and/or composite).

  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Products like Outlook, Power-Point, Excel, and Word.

  • 3+ years of experience in developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with senior executives, customers, collaborators, peers, and business partners.

  • Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

  • Must possess one or more of the following: A&P certification (FAA), TCCA maintenance engineer, EASA mechanic’s certification, equivalent commercial regulatory issued mechanic’s certification, or aviation field related degree.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in a customer-facing role.

  • 3+ years of experience with US and/or foreign aircraft processes (Part 25, Part 121, Part 145).

  • Experience with Boeing design, development and certification process.

  • 3+ years of experience in developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with senior executives, customers, collaborators, peers, and business partners.

Typical Education & Experience:

Mid-Level (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).

Senior (Level 4): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range (Level 3): $90,100 - $121,900
