Fortive Corporation Technical Writer in Everett, Washington

As a Manufacturing Process Technical Writer, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, writing, illustrating, and editing internal user assembly and process documentation for electro-mechanical and pressure products.

Responsibilities:

· Work with Operations Engineering and technical team members to understand user needs and workflows.

· Gather and organize production requirements and other technical information and define strategy for process documentation.

· Prepare text and develop layouts for print or electronic publication.

· Solicit feedback and suggestions from engineering and process operators during documentation development.

· Employ company internal standards applicable to process documentation.

Working Conditions:

· Mixed Industrial and conditioned work environment

Competencies and Qualifications:

· Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment

· Excellent written communication skills and ability to take complex, technical information and explain it to users with technical backgrounds.

· Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams.

· Ability to handle high pressure, prioritize work, and understand impact of duties

· Experience with industry standard writing, illustration, and production tools, such Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)

·

Preferred:

· Knowledge of common manufacturing techniques (basic machining, assembly, glasswork, etc.)

· Associates level degree or higher with focus on Applied Sciences, Engineering, Electronics, or English

· Ability to read schematics and interpret mechanical drawings

· Basic understanding of test and measurement products or test equipment is strongly desired.

Everett, WA: The hourly range for this position is $34.83 - $64.69

This position is also eligible for bonus as part of the total compensation package.

Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors, including, but not limited to: job-related knowledge; skills; experience; and other eligibility factors such as geographic location.
