Queen's Health System Sr. Diagnostic Med Sonographer (Full Time, 40, Rotating) in Ewa Beach, Hawaii

RESPONSIBILITIES

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides work leadership and technical expertise to staff. Ensures quality standards and patient care in the department. Coordinates and manages programs and special projects.

• Serves as lead technologist in the department.

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Essential: walking, twisting body, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking; reaching above and at shoulder level; repetitive arm/hand motions; static gripping of an object for prolonged periods; frequent gripping of an object.

• Continuous: sitting, reaching below shoulder level.

• Frequent: standing, stooping/bending, pushing/pulling maximum weight of 50 pounds of force.

• Occasional: sitting, kneeling, climbing stairs, squatting, lifting and carrying weight of 10 pounds up to 20 pounds.

• Operates ultrasound equipment and computer.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

• Subjected to noise and/or vibrations from the handling of ultrasound transducer and hi-frequency ultrasound signals.

• Subjected to pushing and pulling heavy equipment and furniture.

• Exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.

• Working environment may be stressful to the eyes from focusing on CRT.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

• Registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in Abdomen and OB/GYN.

• Bachelor's degree in biological sciences preferred.

• Current certification in BLS/HCP.

B. EXPERIENCE:

• Two (2) years experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer.

• Experience to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the cardiovascular anatomy, pathology, physiology and principles of ultrasound.

• Prior leadership experience preferred.
