Environmental Resources Management, Inc. Managing Consultant, Health and Safety (Senior Level) in Ewing, New Jersey

ERM is seeking a Managing Consultant, Health and Safety to play a key role in growing our business our Health and Safety Services and Technical Risk team in Ewing, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will bring consulting experience, project and program management experience, technical capability, and deep understanding of business processes to help our clients proactively address EHS risks and challenges.
As a senior leader, you will be responsible for supporting on a range of Safety and Risk projects to build a sustainable business locally, while networking with ERM's global technical and consulting teams to grow the business and share best practices. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement innovative Safety & Risk programs and strategies that support clients in managing their safety and compliance risks, in areas such as construction, safety management systems, process safety and risk management, and SIF prevention.
Manage complex projects and programs that support client safety and process safety programs by conducting Audits, performing safety studies, and developing programs.
Develop and manage programs for a variety of clients with complex safety performance issues. Design and incorporate technical expertise in safety critical environments for projects involving behavioral safety, safety culture and leadership, serious injury and fatality risk reduction, incident learning, and machine safety.
Support incident investigations, development of corrective actions, verification/validation of controls, and learning from incidents. Support root cause analyses in conjunction with clients.
Coach workers to create organizational capacity to deliver a step-change in safety performance through powerful leadership engagement and enhanced capabilities.
Assist in the development of solutions to complex technical safety issues and concerns.
Contribute to expanding ERMs Safety and Risk business. Partner with account teams, Principals and Partners to develop new opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals, and take an active leadership role in developing new business with existing and new clients. Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business.
Lead, manage performance, hire and retain, inspire and mentor a team of technical personnel for overall success of the technical and project management team.
Support project managers with coordinating a variety of tasks to achieve scope, budget and schedule targets while ensuring we meet and exceed our clients' expectations on deliverables.
Build client relationships and nurture repeat business by continuously striving to build a network within and outside of ERM that will enable you to leverage your skills and solve challenging multi-disciplinary client challenges.
Support our clients desire to improve safety performance by providing training, field coaching, and targeted assessments.
REQUIREMENTS:
At least 6 years experience working with organizations on safety and risk management, leadership/culture, and/or sustainable EHS programs. Passionate about EHS performance improvement and have substantial experience developing and delivering world-class EHS program solutions.
At least four years of experience should be in consulting. Business development responsibilities are a plus.
Experience in EHS consulting is a must, encompassing responsibilities such as fostering client relationships, drafting contracts and proposals, and contributing to sales initiatives.
Experience in field environments in high hazard industries.
Ability to work independently and in a team setting, with guidance and direction. Ability to be adaptable, deal with ambiguity, and flexible to changing situations, able to think outside the box, and to identify and respond rapidly to safety issues in field locations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to travel up to 60% may be required. Travel schedules vary based on client need, so periods of travel will vary in frequency and length.
Be passionate about safety performance improvement and have substantial experience developing and delivering world-class management systems and supporting implementation.
BS or MS degree in Safety, Chem E, Mech E or similar discipline, or commensurate experience with a non-similar degree. Credentials, such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, PE will be considered.
Professionally attentive with an understanding of business acumen, business strategies and a desire for team collaboration.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, MS Office computer, and analytical skills; experienced in writing and reviewing technical reports.
Strong work ethic with a passion to learn, grow, and thrive.
Skill and experience in the programs are desirable: Executing workshops, SIF management, High Hazard Industry support.
Experience with Incident investigation, compliance auditing, ISO45001 or ISO14001 management systems, and leadership coaching is preferred.
For the Managing Consultant, Health and Safety (Senior Level) position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $98,942 $114,800 (USD).
