Who you are:

You are an excellent communicator (verbal and written) with the ability to manage relationships through influence and diplomacy.

You possess the ability to create productive working relationships and build work teams to accomplish goals, project manage individual and multiple projects, and communicate clear expectations and achieve quality and scheduling objectives.

You possess 10+ years of project management or equivalent experience with demonstrated success. In addition, you possess demonstrated leadership of cross-functional program/project teams to successfully deliver within specified timescales and budget (where appropriate). Able to demonstrate ability to deal with major change and ambiguity.

What you will do:

As a Senior Program Manager, you will be accountable for hands-on program management for assigned programs and/or projects whether strategic or functional throughout the entire lifecycle following our Lean-Agile principles.

You will be responsible for assigning and managing work/resource allocation and progress tracking (including report outs to senior leadership), accountable for identifying and resolving or escalating areas of concern or program/project risk and responsible for continuous process improvement, stakeholder satisfaction, and reporting of metrics.

In addition, you will provide successful, timely, and on-budget delivery of programs/projects with cross functional stakeholders, meeting department and organization goals, and ensuring high stakeholder satisfaction, through effective hands-on program management.

Finally, you will monitor completion of program/project deliverables, tracking and ensuring deadlines are met, identifying & resolving or if needed escalating concerns around deadlines, resource allocation, scope, cost, etc.

Here are a few other details:

  • Accountable for assigned GS1 US portfolio programs and projects, providing successful, timely, and on-budget delivery of programs/projects with cross functional stakeholders, meeting department and organization goals, and ensuring high stakeholder satisfaction, through effective hands-on program and project management.

  • Accountable for identifying and resolving or escalating areas of concern with respect to deadlines, resource allocation, budget considerations or other risks to a successful program/project outcome.

  • Responsible for coordinating activities across and ensuring accountability across all levels of internal/external business stakeholders.

  • Accountable for creation and daily management of plans and resource allocation/management for assigned EPMO initiatives.

  • Responsible for monitoring completion of program/project deliverables, tracking and ensuring deadlines are met, identifying & resolving or if needed escalating concerns around deadlines, resource allocation, scope, cost, etc.

  • Provide ongoing tracking and measurement of program/project progress, creating and delivering metrics and delivering progress reports to stakeholders including senior leadership.

  • For GS1 product and tool offerings, provide program/project management oversight to coordinate internal/external go-to-market readiness activities including, but not limited to, Business Operations, Education &Training, Marketing, Finance, and Legal.

  • Support the Director, Program Management to drive continuous improvement for the program and project delivery methodology with a goal of reducing durations and cost while increasing quality and stakeholder satisfaction levels. Employs best-in-class Lean-Agile program delivery methodologies.

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, escalate issues raised by stakeholders or team members.

  • Develop strong partnerships with internal/external stakeholders to ensure support for successful delivery of programs/projects.

  • Provide accurate, timely and transparent communication of process, program/project status, and other relevant information to key stakeholders.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or related certifications in a business or program/project management field preferred

  • 10+ years of project management or equivalent experience with demonstrated success

  • Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional program/project teams to successfully deliver within specified timescales and budget (where appropriate). Able to demonstrate ability to deal with major change and ambiguity.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the organization, the market it competes in, and its strategic objectives is highly desirable.

  • PMP from the Project Management Institute and/or SAFe certification is desirable.
