WATTS Quality Inspector in Export, Pennsylvania

As the Quality Inspector, you will complete incoming inspection and in-process inspection of parts/components for the Quality Assurance Department, ensuring that products and materials meet company standards. Under the guidance of the Manager Continuous Improvement & Quality, you'll provide technical assistance to support daily operations, projects, measurement methods and performance testing, and execution of the Quality Business System.

You Will:

  • Coordinate and perform incoming inspections and in-process monitoring activities for parts/components.

  • Update and maintain all required incoming documentation and inspection logs.

  • Make decisions using detailed acceptance criteria and product specifications regarding quality of the parts/components.

  • Complete gage calibrations and provide detailed calibration documents/reports Assist with continuous improvement functions.

  • Develop and improve inspection methods and gage calibration system.

  • Develop and upgrade departmental procedures (Quality Business System).

  • Participate in the Quick Kaizen program to meet Continuous Improvement goals.

  • Provide support for projects to support manufacturing, engineering and quality efforts.

  • Lead required testing to support manufacturing and new product development.

  • Provide training and coaching on inspection and calibration methods.

  • Coordinate and perform evaluations on returned products (Returned Material Authorization).

  • Coordinate RMA activities with Receiving, Customer Service, and Accounting.

  • Collaborate with Production, Materials, Customer Service teams to communicate issues and requirements and inspection results.

You Have:

  • High School Diploma, and/or A.S Degree/Technical Discipline

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience with Quality Assurance Inspection Methods or Manufacturing preferred

  • ASQ Certifications (CMI, CQT)

  • Experience in basic Metrology and Calibration

  • Quality/Mechanical Lab experience

  • Understanding of inspection techniques and ability to use inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, CMM, microscope, height gages, etc.)

  • Read and interpreted part/assembly drawings

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
