Job Description

Insight Global is searching for a skilled Graylog Specialist to join a dynamic Linux Team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in maintaining and administering log stacks within Graylog or ELK, possess scripting and coding expertise, and a background as a Linux system administrator. This role involves upgrading Graylog from Community to paid edition, scaling and rearchitecting log ingestion, and collaborating with developers to integrate and validate new logging sources. The successful candidate will work independently, driving the Graylog/ELK administration to support the company's CMMC initiative.

Responsibilities -

o Moving Graylog from Community Edition to paid edition (simple license upgrade).

 Work with Graylog support to size the instance correctly from a licensing perspective

o Ingesting significantly more logs -

 Will need to be skilled with the Graylog/ELK stack to scale and rearchitect the log ingestion if needed

 Will need to present a plan to review with Lead Linux Architect for approval

 Work independently administer this instance without support from the Linux team

o Additional logging sources will be coming in-

 Development will be writing the parsers for the additional log sources (150 types of logs will be coming in).

 Work with the development POC to help test and validate the new logs that are being parsed correctly

Skills and Requirements

Maintaining & administering a log stack within Graylog or ELK (Elastic Search, Log Stash, and Kabana)

 Scripting and coding experience in order to pull logs

o  Python, BASH, Ansible

 2-5 years experience as a linux system administrator o Linux System Administration (RHEL/CentOS/Rocky 7, 8, and 9 experience preferred)

o Ansible experience (writing code and using the service)

o Linux HPC administration experience

o Container experience (Rancher preferred) null
