Carlile Transportation Courier ($18.08 - $26.22 DOE + $5/hr location differential) in Fairbanks, Alaska

Description

As a Courier, you will:

  • Safety Compliance: Operate vehicles in strict adherence to HSSE policies and procedures.

  • Vehicle Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting any issues immediately.

  • Cargo Security: Ensure freight is properly secured in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Driving Operations: Safely operate sub-CDL vehicles in different environments to deliver customer freight.

  • Warehouse Pickup: Collect orders from the warehouse and prepare them for delivery.

  • Task Prioritization: Complete day-to-day activities based on customer needs and urgency.

  • Dock Assistance: Assist on the dock and with two-person deliveries when required.

  • Housekeeping: Maintain clean and organized workspaces, ensuring proper care of materials.

  • Event Recorder Maintenance: Monitor and maintain rear-facing event recorders.

  • Tablet Management: Update tablet records based on delivery and pickup orders.

  • Dispatcher Communication: Maintain communication with the terminal dispatcher and warehouse to receive delivery instructions.

  • Log Maintenance: Accurately maintain courier stop-logs and jockey sheets.

  • Customer Interaction: Handle customer inquiries promptly and professionally.

  • Roadside Repairs: Perform basic emergency roadside repairs when necessary.

  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

· 21 years of age

· Valid Class D driver's license

· Valid Medical Card or ability to obtain a valid Medical Card

· One to two years of driving experience as a Courier preferred

· Previous material handling, HAZMAT, and forklift experience preferred
