Job Description:

Project/Task Manager

Our work depends on the Project/Task Manager joining our team to lead, create and manage the IMS schedule and track a portfolio of projects progress. The Project/Task Manager must have an active Secret Clearance or above.

HOW A PROJECT/TASK MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Work with Project Managers, Engineers, and Cable Technicians to provide Life Cycle support for multiple projects

  • Develop Integrated Master Schedules (IMSs) in support of multiple Integrated Project Teams (IPTs)

  • Create and manage resource loaded project plans to enable accurate performance tracking cost and funding forecasting and anticipate staffing and logistics requirements

  • Identify and track key program milestone events, contract deliverables, program reviews, integration activities, document contract changes and additions, and training requirements

  • Assist with project metrics to support each project with an integrated view of risks to enable early risk recognition, mitigation, and resolution

  • Assist Project Managers with maintaining current schedules including hands-on development of plans demonstrating how a program is progressing and will meet requirements and objectives

  • Apply experience in project management, engineering management, DoD acquisition or other comparable experience as well as knowledge of DoD acquisition milestones, decision points, and staffing processes to develop project plans using MS Project

  • Participate in IPTs, working groups, and other meetings including preparing meeting agendas and minutes, managing participation, and tracking action items

Responsibilities

  • Maintain IMSs for all projects in Portfolio

  • Track MODs for all projects in Portfolio

  • Complete and maintain Project Status PowerPoint slide for each project in Portfolio

  • Use updated project schedules to assess if/when additional resources are needed to complete project work by deadlines as well as the duration additional resources are needed

  • Maintain issue tracker and alert PMs when escalation period is met

  • Update RAPIDs and ProMIS as required to facilitate reporting

  • Maintain Playbook or similar tool to track pertinent project data

  • Maintain Communication Plan

  • Maintain and distribute Lessons Learned to RED team, CORE, and all Portfolios

  • Track all materials for projects

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Educatio n: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science or equivalent work experience preferred

R equi red Experience : 5+ years experience and at least 3 years of related project scheduling experience, utilizing Microsoft Project

Required Certifications:

  • PMP Certification

Preferred Certification

  • CSM or other Scrum Certification

Required Technical Skills:

  • Experience planning, coordinating, and integrating within a master MS Project schedule

  • Strong Microsoft Project experience

  • Experience, knowledge, and the ability to execute using Microsoft Office Suite, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook

  • General understanding of governmental budgeting processes, including Government Acquisition processes and procedures

  • Ability to research and gather information, verify and analyze data

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external organizations

Security Clearance Level : Must have an active Secret Clearance, (TS/SCI preferred)

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication, writing, organizational and project management skills

  • Proactively and independently engage with Product Managers

  • Ability to successfully communicate with personnel using effective interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience managing several portfolio of projects

  • Flexibly accepting assignments and work independently while seeking guidance as appropriate

  • Collaborate with colleagues to support all assigned tasks

  • Monitor project schedule compliance levels, identify gaps, and potential issues

  • Open issues tracking and follow up with issue owners

  • Gather and analyze information to develop regular status reports

The likely salary range for this position is $114,750 - $155,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
