SGI Global, LLC Senior Specialty Trainer - CMD/IEDD in Fairfax, Virginia

The Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI) is a U.S. Department of State security assistance program focused on building international peacekeeping capacity worldwide in close collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD). The GPOI program's mission is to strengthen the effectiveness of the United Nations (UN) and regional peace operations by enhancing partner countries' capacities to prepare, deploy, and sustain peacekeepers and reinforcing UN and regional organizations' performance and accountability frameworks. State's Bureau of Political Military Affairs, Office of Global Programs and Initiatives, Peace Operations Capacity Building Division (PM/GPI/POCB) serves as the GPOI Program Office.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Specialty Trainer shall be the Team Lead's principal trainer for others conducting specialized contract training requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • The Senior Specialty Trainer shall have a minimum of 10 years of technical experience which includes a relevant blend of military skills, experience, knowledge, and current certifications that will enable that individual to successfully train specific task performance objectives on this SOW.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years U.S. or NATO military explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) occupational specialty at E6-E9; WO2-WO5; O3-O5.

  • Minimum certification as International Mine Action Service (IMAS) EOD Level 3 or other internationally recognized equivalent. [EOD certification and competency standards are spelled out in IMAS 9.30.]

  • Demonstrated experience conducting EOD planning and operations in austere environments.

  • (Preferred) Experience as senior trainer to a foreign security partner with directly related experience in capacity building.

  • (Preferred) Recent experience (EOD unit) while deployed to a combat, peacekeeping, or other contingency operation.
