Primal Pet Group Production Team Lead in Fairfield, California

JOB SUMMARY

Provide leadership to employees during production and/or warehouse operations. Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, this position is responsible for facilitating the daily operations by their respective assignments. The Prep Team Lead will assist the employees to ensure they are fully resourced and adhere to processes necessary for completion of daily production requirements, compliance with all food safety requirements, and adherence to GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices). In this capacity, follows all procedures related to quality, efficiency and safety. Team projects or other assignments as assigned by Production Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides leadership to employees during day-to-day activities.

  • Assign jobs, positions, projects, and tasks to employees, as necessary.

  • Address and resolve employee disputes and relations issues.

  • Develop employees to perform in a self-directed manner.

  • Train personnel on safety awareness, departmental policies, operation of relevant equipment, good manufacturing practices, proper sanitation, correct documentation of production documents, and Company standard operating procedures.

  • Assists on the production line as needed.

  • Complete documentation thoroughly and accurately in accordance with company policies.

  • Initiate good housekeeping practices by implementing cleaning tasks throughout the work area and organizing workspace.

  • Proactively address potential safety issues or problems.

  • Foster and facilitate a strong teamwork environment by encouraging open communication between employees and managers, and promoting teamwork among employees.

  • Responsible for safe operation of the equipment according to established standard operating procedures and safety policies.

  • Directs the proper break down and sanitizing of equipment as required.

  • Other duties as required to sustain department.

  • Coordinate activities with peers both on the same shift as well as peers responsible for other areas.

  • Ensure information is available to teams, as needed to complete their assignments.

  • Supervise personnel and assigns personnel where needed.

  • Works closely with Management to ensure that product is consistent with and meets the specification set by Primal Pet Foods.

  • Strong leadership skills, with an ability to build trust, provide direction, and vitality to execute with excellence and achieve extraordinary results.

  • Ability to prioritize and follow-through to achieve results and meet deadlines to meet the needs of the business.

  • Complying with GMPs, HACCP and other Food Safety, quality and security guidelines and strictly adhering to all Primal Pet Foods specifications

  • Reporting all malfunctions of equipment immediately to management and communicating the level of urgency for the items to be fixed

  • Completing required paperwork and documentation

  • Recognizing problems in production, reacting quickly and offering immediate solutions

  • Monitoring the recording of all information on production paperwork

  • Filling the demands of day-to-day operations by stepping in and filling in for different roles when needed and completing other tasks as assigned

  • Create a positive work environment and rewards superior performance. Reports and documents violations of policies.

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Punctual and Regular Attendance Required

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    This job has direct supervision of employees.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • 6 months experience at a leadership level in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

  • Strong leadership skills, with an ability to build trust, provide direction, and vitality to execute with excellence and achieve extraordinary results.

  • Ability to prioritize and follow-through to achieve results and meet deadlines to meet the needs of the business.

  • Good communication skills, both oral and written and strong managerial skills including: good judgment, planning, organizing, innovative approach to problem solving, motivate employees.

    COMPENSATION

    $21-$22 hourly

    Plus we pay differential pay

  • +$1.00 for hours worked on 2nd shift

  • +1.25 for hours worked on 3rd shift

    SCHEDULE

  • 1st shift start time varies between 4am-5am

    Candidates must be flexible to work daily overtime and 6th-day overtime as needed, May be subject to Saturday and Sunday depending on the department.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read, speak, and communicate in English with employees, direct supervisors, team leads, and upper management. Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.
