Job Summary:

Are you passionate about fostering a positive workplace culture? We are looking for a dedicated Human Resources Generalist with a focus in employee relations to join our dynamic HR team. In this role, you’ll provide comprehensive support to academic and administrative units, drive impactful HR initiatives, and contribute to a collaborative and engaging work environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Management, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.

  • Experience: 4-5 years of experience in Human Resources, ideally within higher education. Professional HR certification and familiarity with Workday HRIS are a plus!

Work Environment:

This role requires a high level of confidentiality and discretion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for employee relations ensuring employees feel supported and informed.

  • Champion a culture of inclusivity, respect, and collaboration across the University.

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

  • Stay current with HR best practices and legal requirements, sharing knowledge with the team.

  • Interpret and administer HR policies, providing clear guidance and support to staff and faculty.

  • Oversee the University’s ADA Accommodation process, ensuring equitable access for all employees.

  • Help manage the University’s Pet Therapy Program, promoting well-being among our community.

  • Support workplace investigations, performance management, and corrective action processes.

  • Assist in policy development and updates, keeping our guidelines current and relevant.

  • Facilitate training sessions for staff and faculty to enhance skills and knowledge.

  • Aid in data integrity audits and reporting, ensuring accurate HR metrics.

  • Support annual HR cycle deliverables, including performance management initiatives.

  • Promote a professional image of HR throughout the University community.

  • Stay informed about trends in the HR field and share insights with colleagues.

  • Immediately report any unsafe working conditions to maintain a safe environment.

  • Perform other related duties as needed, with flexibility to adapt to evolving needs.
