Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Fairfield, New Jersey
Description We are extending an opportunity to join our team in the role of an Accounts Payable Specialist, based in Fairfield, New Jersey. This role is primarily situated within the accounting industry, focusing on managing and maintaining ledger accounting functions for our facilities. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct detailed review of vendor invoices for accuracy against our system, including monthly account statements.
• Participate in the reconciliation of end of month statements, trial balances and bank accounts as directed.
• Review pricing structure and terms for vendors, and research alternate approved vendors when necessary.
• Regularly update and maintain certain company items using MS Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Keep up with specific general ledger activities as directed.
• Handle the processing of other client and vendor information in Business Central for both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable modules.
• Utilize various accounting software systems to ensure smooth operation of all accounting functions.
• Provide support to all general ledger accounting functions across all facilities.
• Maintain a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data processing and reporting.
• Ensure adherence to accounting principles and regulations, through accurate account coding. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Coding
• Experience with Accounting Software Systems
• Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Functions
• Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP) procedures
• Proficiency in using MS Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
• Prior experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
