Operator Primary Responsibilities:
Set up and operate a CNC milling machine to perform a variety of drilling, milling, boring and other related operations utilizing part programs and blueprints
Program simple inputs into the CNC machine, make any necessary adjustments to produce parts to specifications and ensure they meet tolerance by using routing inspections
Maintain specifications by observing various operations of the machine, detecting malfunctions, taking measurements, troubleshooting processes, replacing worn tools, and adhering to routine quality control procedures and processes
Maintain supplies, as well as perform simple preventive maintenance of CNC equipment and daily housekeeping functions
Provide technical support in developing and improving manufacturing process
Operator Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience
Demonstrably high degree of mechanical aptitude, basic mathematical skills, and ability to read, analyze, and interpret general blueprints
Familiar with micrometers, calipers, gaping, comparator, measuring tape, and other measuring devices
Able to communicate and follow detailed instructions
Able to pass decimal and basic blueprint reading tests
Familiarity with Mazak machinery (training available)
Work Environment:
The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g. working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing, or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.
Physical Demands:
The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors of remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
