Robert Half Payroll Administrator in Fairview Park, Ohio

Description

We are in the search for a proficient Payroll Administrator to join our team in the insurance industry, based in Rocky River, Ohio. In this role, you will be engaged in a variety of tasks including managing payroll procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining employee records. You will also be expected to resolve any payroll discrepancies through detailed examination and analysis of past and present payroll data.

This is a direct hire position with standard fulltime business hours, Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. After training you can work one day per week at home.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the entire payroll function to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and other leaves

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices

• Prepare and submit reports with payroll information to supervisor

• Handle the administration of the electronic timekeeping system and setup of each employee, monitor submissions of approved timesheets, ensure valid data transfers to/from payroll service

• Coordinate efforts between payroll, human resources, budget and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data

• Handle the workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely

• Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports

• Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits

• Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance

• Execute time and attendance processing and interface with payroll

• Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed

• Process manual checks.

Requirements

• Knowledge and experience with Ceridian and Kronos Timekeeping System

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Familiarity with various accounting functions

• Previous experience in the insurance industry as a Payroll Administrator

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and within a team

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
