Our Level 2 Support Services team makes sure that all computers, software, and network connections in our organization function smoothly. Our mission is to provide technical support to our organization’s employees, both onsite and remotely, while managing and distributing assets. Working under the CIO’s organization our team often delves into complex tasks in alignment with Audits, Compliance Needs, and Asset Lifecycle Management.

What is the position?

A hybrid Desktop Engineer and Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing the installation, configuration, maintenance, and security of desktop systems, as well as providing end-user support and training to ensure that users can effectively utilize desktop technology. The Desktop Engineer and Logistics Specialist’s role is critical to any organization’s IT infrastructure, as they are responsible for ensuring that all desktops and laptops in the organization are functioning smoothly. We are a crucial steppingstone between Level 1 and Level 3 support, assisting our user population with complex issues and getting fantastic results along the way!

What will I get to do?

Your primary responsibility will be to image and distribute company assets and provide technical support on-site to clients at our Falls Church, VA Office. You will receive tickets in our ticketing system to work on, update, and resolve after working with the client. In addition, you will be supporting our logistics team by ensuring that hardware is prepared, packaged, shipped, and received. You will be responsible for CMDB Administration, Microsoft 365 Administration, and work towards keeping Cognosante compliant across our multiple frameworks that we support.

What qualifications do I need?

  • 3 years supporting of Windows and Mac environments

  • Familiarity with packaging, shipping, and tracking equipment

  • 3 years working knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft 365 tenants

  • 3 years of understanding computer hardware, networking, and troubleshooting methods

  • Development of documentation and knowledge articles for technical/non-technical users

What additional characteristics will help me thrive?

  • Excellent written and communication and customer service skills.

  • Strong ability to self-manage your workload and tickets that are assigned to you.

  • Self-starter who doesn’t shy away from new problems or scenarios. Experience with Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Azure.

  • Experience with WDS imaging. Experience with CMDB Asset Management.

  • HDI Certification.

  • ITIL Foundations Certification.

  • CompTIA A+ or Net+.

  • Associate's degree in computer information systems, Information Technology, related field, or equivalent experience.

Compensation

$23.29 - $34.95

The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may be taken into consideration - contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience. The estimate displayed represents the salary range for this position and is just one component of Cognosante’s total compensation package for employees.
