Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Fargo, North Dakota

Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Fargo, North Dakota. The chosen candidate will join our team and contribute to our accounting operations. The role involves managing and processing invoices and other accounting tasks, with a focus on accounts payable.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the registration of new vendors into the accounting system, including the collection and documentation of banking information.

• Enter all invoices/payment requests into the automated workflow process for efficient tracking and processing.

• Verify vendor accounts, resolve purchase orders, invoices, or payment discrepancies, and ensure timely payments to vendors.

• Reconcile account transactions with the general ledger to maintain accurate financial records.

• Review, record, and periodically audit employee expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies.

• Assist in preparing weekly aging reports to monitor the financial health of accounts.

• Support the weekly payment processing via the accounting and banking platforms.

• Aid in the reconciliation of bank accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Assist in managing the company credit card fleet, including reviewing and reconciling employee credit card usage.

• Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately and promptly.

• Collect information required to prepare sales and use tax filings, ensuring compliance with tax regulations. Requirements • Possess at least 2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role or similar

• Demonstrable knowledge of Accounting Functions and Accounts Payable (AP) principles

• Proficiency in Coding Invoices and managing Month End Close procedures

• Experience with Expense Reports and Credit Card Reconciliation is a must

• Familiarity with SAP and other accounting software

• Ability to prepare and manage Journal Entries

• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail

• Strong organizational and time management abilities

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or relevant field is preferred.
