RDO Equipment Network Engineer in Fargo, North Dakota

Description

This individual will design, monitor, configure and support the Company’s network infrastructure. They will provide professional technical services and support to R. D. Offutt company team members. They will be responsible to ensure appropriate knowledge and expertise in both standard industry technologies and RDO specific systems and solutions and to ensure customer satisfaction by providing concise communications and building strong relationships. This individual will manage projects and mentor Team Members on network technologies. Individual is offered the opportunity to grow technical, as well as personal skills for delivering on daily work and larger projects through supported learning opportunities.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Design network-based systems and equipment.

  • Work with team members to identify end user requirements.

  • Design, install and maintain disaster recovery and back-up.

  • Provide network support with a variety of operating systems.

  • Install and configure computer network equipment.

  • Maintain network connectivity of all computer workstations.

  • Provide network support to users.

  • Monitor network to ensure optimal performance

  • Evaluate and recommend security improvements and system upgrades.

  • Monitor and maintain the Company’s voice communications system.

  • Make suggestions to end users regarding voice communications software and hardware solutions and offer support and troubleshooting.

  • Evaluate new and existing security software technologies to enhance network application performance and security.

  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery methods for the network infrastructure in conjunction with overall company Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery plan.

  • Train, mentor and empower IT service desk and network team members to support all network technologies.

  • Role is expected to utilize learning opportunities to enhance knowledge on leading edge technologies provided by the company; participating in educational opportunities offered as part of the position; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

  • Follow change management processes.

  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in area of specialty or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 8+ years’ experience supporting an enterprise network

  • Palo Alto Networks certification is a plus.

  • Position will support acquiring certifications and enhancing technical knowledge through supported training.

  • Candidates must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
