This position is part of the R&D department located in Fargo, ND and will be on-site. At Aldevron, we combine best-in-class products and service with the ideal operating environment to lay the groundwork for vital new discoveries worldwide. You will be a part of the Analytical Method Development unit and report to the Sr.Director responsible for mRNA Drug Substance and Drug Product Analytics.

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Contribute to design of experiment and generation of data to be included in technical reports following all appropriate good documentation practices.

  • Develop solutions for simple and complex problems requiring a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation. Broaden existing expanded knowledge in own field, to other areas relevant to team operations.

  • Be an individual contributor with minimal supervision. Perform experiments, analyze data, and plan next steps with minimal assistance.

  • Use existing procedures and develop novel procedures to solve client problems; analyze information and standard practices to make judgments. Work within standardized practices to achieve objectives and meet tight deadlines.

  • Engage in limited customer interactions, assist in training other scientist, and develop into leading team of multiple people.

    Essential requirements of the job include:

  • BS degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or related discipline with 2-5 years of experience OR MS degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or related discipline with 0-2 years of experience OR PhD degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or related discipline with 0-1 years of experience.

  • Experience with molecular biology techniques such as RT-PCR Sanger sequencing, q/dPCR, in vitro transcription/translation, RNA/mRNA analytics

  • HPLC, CGE (PA800+/BioPhase8800+), ELISA

  • Willingness to working with mRNA and LNP therapeutics and ability to multi-task and acquire new skills in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of regulatory guidelines related analytical method development and validation.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Mass Spectrometry

  • Flow cytometry
