Precipart Accounts Payable Specialist in Farmingdale, New York
Precipart, located in Farmingdale, NY, is looking to hire an Accounts Payable Specialist who is demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy. As the primary Accounts Payable Specialist, you will coordinate all accounts payable operations at Precipart. Your responsibilities include managing data entry, processing payments for approval, and providing backup to the Accounts Receivable Specialist when necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Process incoming Accounts Payable invoices against open purchase orders receipts using the 3 – way match process ensuring charges are being assigned to proper expense accounts on P&L. This process includes identifying vendor, invoice number, quantity invoiced vs. quantity received, correct pricing against purchase order and entry into computer system.
Handle all Accounts Payable functions:
Generate and present list of outstanding bills to the Director, Accounting Services for approval
Generate payment files using a variety of methods including checks, ACH payments, International and domestic wire transfers for approval, signature, and distribution
When necessary, liaison with purchasing department to resolve any order discrepancies on any outstanding bills for payment to maintain positive relationships with vendors
Update cash book disbursements reflecting accurate daily balance.
Monitor and reconcile accounts
Collaborate with Purchasing team to review and resolve invoice discrepancies
Manage and maintain vendor accounts and respond to vendor inquiries
Process refunds from vendors/customers
Audit and process travel and expense reports
Assist in processing of W-9s and 1099s
Support with general accounting responsibilities
Perform bookkeeping operations as needed
Backup to Accounts Receivable Specialist function, as needed.
Responsible for conforming with the company’s quality management system requirements, as well as contributing to its overall effectiveness, and the ultimate goals of customer satisfaction, product compliance and ethical practices/behavior.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION
3+ years related experience
Proficient Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis using Excel and Word
Excellent attention to detail, problem solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing tasks
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate, verbally and written, effectively with team members and cross-functionally

PAY RANGE: $25.00 to $28.00 an hour
