Job Description

This position will be working with the team responsible for overseeing the design, construction, and maintenance of our facilities, including buildings, equipment, and infrastructure. The position will primarily be supporting the Farmington Hills and Plymouth campuses but may also be asked to support regional activities and programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement facility maintenance programs to ensure the safety, functionality, and efficiency of our facilities

  • Oversee the renovation of existing facilities

  • Manage and coordinate facility projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation

  • Conduct regular inspections and assessments of facilities to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns

  • Develop and implement energy conservation and sustainability initiatives

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to address facility-related issues and ensure compliance with regulations and standards

  • Provide technical expertise and support for facility-related projects and initiatives

  • Develop and maintain documentation and records related to facility management and maintenance activities

  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in facility management and engineering

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field

  • 3-5 years proven experience in facilities management, engineering, or a related field

  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management

  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and standards

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant tools

  • Certification in facilities management or engineering is a plus

  • In-office requirement: 3 days (or more as needed) at facilities
