Robert Half Grant Accountant in Farmington Hills, Michigan

Description We are seeking a Grant Accountant to join our team located in FARMINGTON HILLS, Michigan. The role primarily revolves around providing accounting services with a focus on grants and grant reimbursements. The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with multiple teams, handle financial reports and grant reimbursements, and ensure compliance with all funder requirements and policies.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular reviews of financial transactions related to grant awards to ensure accuracy and consistency

• Establish and manage tracking systems for grant financial reporting deadlines across all funded programs

• Coordinate with various departments to draft, submit, and record grant reimbursement requests

• Prepare and submit monthly grant reimbursement requests, ensuring compliance with grant requirements

• Assist in the preparation of grant budgets as necessary

• Monitor budget financial performance against actual results, providing multi-year projections

• Prepare financial reports for other departments ensuring accuracy and timeliness

• Ensure systems are in place for the allocation of grant-funded positions and compliance with funder policies

• Establish and foster professional relationships with other departments

• Perform tasks relevant to the duties or the mission of the organization as assigned. Requirements • Proficient in using Abila MIP and other Accounting Software Systems.

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services.

• Experience in designing and implementing Banner Ads.

• Knowledge of Bloomberg Terminal.

• Able to perform various Accounting Functions.

• Experience in Auditing.

• Understanding of Budget Processes.

• Proficient in Capital Management.

• Able to manage Cash Activity.

• Previous experience in a non-profit organization is preferred.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• High level of integrity and dependability.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.

• Familiarity with grant accounting regulations and standards.
