Position summary:

Build strong relationships with the state VP and General Manager as well as all people leaders. Provide timely, upbeat and helpful support to employees in all locations within the state. Provide direction and HR consulting in all functional areas including employment, training and development, employee relations, labor relations, compliance, benefits, compensation, and performance management. Provide interpretive advice on company policies and government regulations. Monitor and maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, department budget, and company policies and procedures. Advise managers on human resources policies and procedures as needed.

Pay Range:$92,500 - $152,450 This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.)

Reporting Relationship:Senior Human Resources Manager

Essential Functions:

• Determine flexible solutions to meet the needs of assigned customers while maintaining policy requirements.

• Act as a single point of contact to advise and counsel all levels of management on day-to-day Human Resources issues.

• Responsible for working with managers and employees in coordinating employee and labor relations efforts including supporting labor negotiations, grievances, arbitrations and contract interpretation.

• Support, advise and counsel on leadership development and strategic workforce planning initiatives.

• Support the goals of the Company’s Affirmative Action Plans for assigned business units.

• Perform various projects and other Human Resources employee-related activities, as required.

• Provide support to supervisors and managers regarding employee and labor relations issues. Participate in meetings as business needs require.

• Consult with management on employee performance, employee conduct and general employee and labor relations issues to ensure that Company expectations are being met, while maintaining open communication between employees and management.

• Provide guidance relative to the progressive discipline process, and escalate as appropriate up to and including the coordination of involuntary employee separation. Ensure that a balanced but consistent approach is taken in the application of discipline.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Maintain knowledge of Human Resources policies and procedures, Collective Bargaining Agreements, laws and regulations, industry trends and developments to ensure accurate information is being communicated throughout the company.

• Lead and assist with special projects as requested.

• Participate and represent the company in civic, industry and professional organizations.

• Travel to field locations and build strong rapport with leaders and employees.

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

• 7 or more years of experience in Human Resources is required.

What Is Desired Or Can Be Taught:

• SHRM Certification Upon Hire

• Knowledge of principles/methods in employee/labor relations, basic compensation, staffing/recruiting, safety, and training and development.

• EEO guidelines and labor law as appropriate.

• Excellent problem identification and resolution skills. Decision-making skills and ability to work independently, using independent judgment.

• Outstanding oral and written communication, interpersonal, persuasive, leadership and negotiation skills are required to interact with all levels of management, staff and external customers. Exceptional communication skills: verbal, written and listening with all levels of employees within the organization.

• Ability to inform, educate and influence employees to support corporate goals and initiatives.

• Ability to evaluate, analyze and quantify the financial impact of the issues involved.

• Utilize technology to provide data to business customers.

• Interpret and communicate employment laws and Collective Bargaining Agreements.

• Must possess strong management skills; demonstrate flexibility and ability to prioritize multiple projects and be able to multitask to work on several topics simultaneously.
