Fuel Talent LLC IT Hardware Technician in Federal Way, Washington

Position Summary: The IT Hardware Technician supports and maintains technology equipment and IT assets. Responsibilities include installing, configuring, diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading hardware to ensure optimal performance. This role involves timely troubleshooting of issues and providing end-user assistance via in-person support, telephone, or email.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Address and resolve customer-reported problems in accordance with Service Level Agreements.
  • Complete service requests (SRs) and incidents promptly.
  • Identify root causes of recurring issues, implement fixes, and provide user training to prevent future problems.
  • Install and maintain hardware assets, including desktop computing equipment, multifunction printers, network routers/switches, and other IT hardware.
  • Provide hardware and software support for all network users.
  • Document customer communications and resolutions using the HEAT ticketing system.
  • Manage hardware inventories, add/change/delete requests, and knowledge base maintenance.
  • Handle employee moves, office openings, and closures, including moving and setting up equipment.
  • Track and maintain IT equipment inventory, including loaner laptops.
  • Perform additional duties/projects as needed by the department.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of experience in PC support or Help Desk roles.
  • A+ Certification (or ability to obtain within six months of hire).
  • Proficiency in LAN/WAN technology and technical knowledge of Microsoft software and Dell hardware.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Capability to handle confidential information and follow organizational policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs multiple times per week.
  • Crawling under desks/tables to set up cables and equipment.
  • Installing and moving heavy equipment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time. A valid driver's license is required.
