The Assistant Controller will be a permanent employment opportunity and will be located in the Fitchburg, Massachusetts region. You will succeed in this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Candidates who can effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo, will be preferred for this position. Your responsibilities

• Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

• Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

• Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations

• Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports

• Act on items beyond formal job responsibilities

• Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required

• Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

• Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

• Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation

• Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

• Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management te

  Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role such as Assistant Controller

• Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Functions

• Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in Auditing and Budget Processes

• Familiarity with SAP software

• Strong skills in Financial Analysis and Forecasting

• Ability to handle Internal Reporting, External Reporting, and Management Reporting

• Experienced in executing Month End Close procedures

• Able to prepare and analyze Monthly Statements

• Knowledge of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field is preferred
