Description

We are extending an invitation for a Controller role within our organization, working in the bustling location of Fitchburg, Massachusetts. This role is integral to our financial operations as it involves preparing and maintaining financial records that track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. The Controller will be a key player in our financial management team, offering their expertise in the realm of accounting and finance to ensure the smooth running of our financial processes.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain monthly financial and consolidated statements, supporting schedules, balance sheets, general ledgers and other financial records.

• Review financial statements, responsible for all standard costing and inventory valuation and serve as financial adviser for all operational departments.

• Manage and report on daily cash position and monitor cash balances and cash forecasts.

• Oversee the month-end close process, including generating and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.

• Manage accuracy of year-end physical inventory.

• Create and update policies and process documents as needed.

• Work closely with department heads to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial information, and to ensure they have the resources they need for informed decision making.

• Manage bank relationships and weekly/monthly bank reporting.

• Actively participate in both system and process improvements by monitoring assigned areas for process improvements to ensure efficiency.

• Oversee the company's financial accounts, payrolls, budget, cash receipts and financial assets, either directly or through subordinates.

• Evaluate staff performance to recommend personnel actions such as hiring, retention, promotion, transfer, or dismissal.

• Participate in training as needed.

• Use Accounting Software Systems, ERP Solutions, and other skills related to Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Auditing, Budget Processes, Cost - Standard, Cost Accounting, and Bank Reconciliations.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ERP Solutions

• Familiarity with Accounting Functions

• Knowledge in handling Accounts Payable (AP)

• Capable of managing Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in Auditing

• Understanding of Budget Processes

• Ability to work with Cost - Standard

• Experience in Bank Reconciliations
